RADIATION SAFETY

This course refers to the protection against radiation and the ionizing radiations and is structure to meet national requirements and recommendations.

Basic Radiation Safety is suited to those requiring a knowledge of radiation safety including trainees, industrial radiographers, managers, candidate NDT inspectors and radiation technologists from the field of medicine.

PRACTICE

  • Acquaintance with the relevant equipment (X and gamma rays, films, processing of darkroom, etc)
  • Radiography of several training samples with artificial and natural discontinuities
  • Interpretation of films from the International Institute of Welding
  • Location and assessment of discontinuities

EXAMINATIONS

With the completion of the training the candidate can sit the examinations for certification according to SNT-TC-1A. Training and Examinations shall be done in English only.
